# How to accept BaseSpace transfer ownership requests in a workgroup context

To be able to accept ownership of a run or project transfer request in a BaseSpace workgroup, use the following steps.

1. Open a web browser and log into the BaseSpace account containing the workgroup. The account that is logged in is displayed in the top right corner; if the workgroup account is logged in, select the workgroup name and then select **Personal** in the account drop down menu.
2. On the home page/dashboard select the Accept button on the Transfer Invite or select or paste the transfer request URL from the "BaseSpace: Project Transfer Ownership Request" email sent by <basespace-noreply@illumina.com> into a web browser.
3. Expand the "Context to accept invite" drop down menu and select the appropriate workgroup, then select the Accept box.

When a data transfer has been accepted in the workgroup, a link to the data transferred appears in the bottom right hand side of the screen, when selecting the link it is possible to view the data after selecting the "Switch Workgroup" button.

When attempting to accept a transfer ownership request URL from an email when already logged into the workgroup on a web browser the following Invalid Invite message will display.
