# How to locate log files for the Illumina Lab Automation Software Solution Infinium Module (ILASS)

For troubleshooting the Illumina Automated Pipetting System (IAPS/Tecan), log files generated by the Illumina Lab Automation Software Solution (ILASS) may be required.

**ILASS Log Files Path**

To locate the log files for the ILASS Infinium Module (eg, IAPS), open **File Explorer** on the instrument control computer and navigate to the following directory:

**C:\ProgramData\Illumina\ILASS-Infinium\logs**

**Types of ILASS Log Files**

ILASS generates three different types of log files. For a description of each log file type, refer to Table 1.

**Table 1.** Types of ILASS log files

| **Log folder** | **Description**                                                                                 |
| -------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| activity       | Contains log information on the various activities performed on the instrument control computer |
| application    | Contains log information on errors, warnings, and information from the ILASS application        |
| assayrun       | Contains log information on the assay run                                                       |

To view a log file, open the file using a compatible text reader (for example, Notepad).
