# Cleaning agents specifications and applications for Tecan (LiHa and RoMa) parts

Clean each component of the Tecan instrument, specifically the LiHa (Liquid Handling Arm) and RoMa (Robotic Manipulator), on a regular basis using only the specified and appropriate cleaning agents for each part. Proper cleaning is essential to maintain instrument performance, accuracy, and longevity.

Using incorrect cleaning agents, harsh chemicals, or strong detergents can damage the instrument. In particular, these substances may dissolve or degrade the protective coatings on carriers and worktable surfaces, leading to premature wear, corrosion, or functional issues that can negatively affect assay performance.

The tables below provide detailed guidance on:

* The recommended cleaning agents for each Tecan component
* Specifications and usage considerations for each cleaning agent
* Manufacturers of commercially available cleaning products

**Table 1.** Cleaning agents that can be used for each Tecan parts.

**Notes:**

* If weak detergents, base or bleach, are used, thoroughly clean with water and wipe dry to remove the cleaning agent and obtain normal operating conditions.
* Use a lint-free tissue together with the appropriate cleaning agent.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://knowledge.illumina.com/microarray/tecan-iaps/microarray-tecan-iaps-faq-list/000007003.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
