# Why should the DMAPs not be directly downloaded into the Autoload folder with Illumina LIMS?

The Illumina Array LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) enables management of Infinium microarray high-throughput sample tracking, using automation and robotic control. The Illumina LIMS depends on BeadChip DMAPs accessioning to work.

Downloading DMAP files for Infinium BeadChips is a time-consuming process. The time it takes to download DMAPs for a single BeadChip can range from several minutes to up to an hour, depending on the plexity of the array and the number of samples per BeadChip.

Under Illumina LIMS, a BeadChip is processed only after LIMS has accessioned the BeadChip's DMAPs and moved the files to the LIMS Decode folder. During the process of accessioning the BeadChip, LIMS regularly and frequently polls the Autoload folder to check for DMAPs for BeadChips that the lab wants to accession into the system. LIMS does not check to confirm if the DMAP folder is complete, so if the poll happens to occur at the same time that DMAP files are being downloaded in to the Autoload folder, there is a strong possibility that an incomplete copy of the DMAPs will be moved into the Decode folder by LIMS.

In order to reduce the chances of an incomplete DMAP folder being accessioned and transferred by LIMS, **Illumina strongly recommends that users download the DMAP\*\*\*\*s initially to a temporary holding directory on their network**, then transfer them over the network to the Autoload folder. Transfers over the network are much faster than downloads over the internet, and by following this procedure, users will reduce or nearly eliminate the chance that LIMS will accession an incomplete DMAP folder to the Decode directory.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://knowledge.illumina.com/microarray/illumina-lims/microarray-illumina-lims-troubleshooting-list/000007031.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
