How to change the date format in the GenomeStudio Final Report in the Processing Date Field

GenomeStudio users might be interested in changing the date format in the Final Report but are unable to find any option in GenomeStudio. This is because the GenomeStudio software does not provide any option to change time/date settings.

The date and time settings displayed in the Final Report are based on Operation Sytem (OS) settings. Some users might change the date and time settings but still experience that the changes made to the OS settings are not displayed in the Final Report (Figure 1). This is because the GenomeStudio software operates in English (US), therefore, the Region and language settings would have to be set to English (US) on the computer as well.

How to change the date format in the GenomeStudio Final Report in the Processing Date Field from MM/dd/yyyy to dd/MM/yyyy

Windows 10:

1. Right click on the desktop and select Personalize (Figure 2).

1. Search for Date & time settings in the search field and open (Figure 3).

1. Keep the local Time zone and select Region (Figure 4).

1. Change Country or region to United States as well as Current format to English (United States). Then select Additional date, time & regional settings (Figure 5).

1. This opens the Control Panel - Clock and Region window. Select Date and Time (Figure 6).

1. In the Date and Time window, select Change date and time... (Figure 7).

1. In the pop-up window, select Change calendar settings (Figure 8).

1. This opens the Region window. Go to Additional settings (Figure 9).

1. In the new window, customize the format as wished. Type into the Short date: dd/MM/yyyy and in the Long date dddd, d MMMM, yyyy (Figure 10).

• • To save the changes made, please select Apply and then OK.

  • In the Region window, please also click on Apply and OK.

  • In the Date and Time Settings window, please click on OK.

  • Finally, in the Date and Time window, please click Apply and on OK.

1. Open the GenomeStudio project and create a Final Report with the new settings. The output should populate the set date format:

1. Go back to the search bar at the top of the window, search for Control Panel and open it (Figure 15).
