# What is the Content Descriptor file in GenomeStudio 2011.1 Methylation Module?

In GenomeStudio 2011.1, the Content Descriptor file refers to the \*.bpm version of the manifest and is not to be confused with the similarly named LIMS Product Descriptor file (\*.xml).

* The Bead Pool Manifest (\*.bpm) file provides information about probe content on the array.
* The Product Descriptor or Product Definition file (\*.xml) contains fields describing the specific product format.

In the final window of the Project Wizard during Methylation Project Creation in GenomeStudio 2011.1, the user is required to select the Content Descriptor file:

Selecting "Browse" prompts the user to navigate to a Bead Pool Manifest (\*.bpm) file saved in the computer.\

Once the \*.bpm file is selected in the Project Wizard window, it will appear in the dropdown menu.\

Click "Finish" button which is no longer grayed out, and the project will load.

Manifests and other Product Files can be downloaded from the respective BeadChip Product Files page:
