# Instructions to designate an output location when setting up a run in MiSeq Control Software v2.x

To designate a run's output location, follow the steps outlined below.

Open the MiSeq Control Software and select **Run Options**.

In the **Output Folder** field, enter the drive letter if saving locally, or the full UNC path if saving to a networked server.
