# Troubleshooting Bad Request Errors When Adding Output Folder on MiSeq i100 Series

**Background**

The MiSeq i100 Series will test both read and write permissions when checking connectivity to a desired Output Folder on a configured External Storage. If the check is unable to complete the write test for the selected Output Folder, the following error message will present:

![](/files/LIYHoRmhxVcvgjwNMEDN)

Bad Request. Connectivity check failed to write to selected customer storage bookmark location. Check permissions issues with the selected output folder.

**Troubleshooting Actions**

This issue is caused by incorrect write permissions configured for the output folder on the configured network External Storage location. Consult the local IT team responsible for permissions management and work with them to ensure that the instrument has the appropriate **read and write** permissions for the intended Output folder.
